Q1: I forgot my password. Will the hidden files be lost? How do I get them back in this case?
A1: The hidden files WON'T be lost, but if you are not a registered user you will have to reinstall Windows to find them back. Registered users can contact our technical support team for how to reset the logon password by providing registration information..

Q2: Do I need to disable or uninstall Folder Security Personal before doing disk defragment?
A2: No. There is no need to disable Folder Security Personal in this case.

Q3: Will some third-party file management tools (such as ZTreeWin) see the objects hidden by Folder Security Personal?
A3: Absolutely Not! The protection mechanism of Folder Security Personal is built on system kernel level, it's unbreakable.

Q4: Can I hide everything with Folder Security Personal?
A4: No. Critical system files can't be hidden or blocked, or Windows won't boot correctly next time. Though Folder Security Personal checks whether an object can be protected or not and will give a warning message, but users should be aware of this.

Q5: What will happen if Folder Security Personal crashes or someone terminates the program?
A5: The security kernel of Folder Security Personal is loaded and take effects almost as soon as Windows is started. What users see is just a GUI not the security kernel. Terminating the GUI process has no effects on security of the protected objects.

Q6: I have unlocked/unprotected an object, but still can't see it in the Windows Explorer?
A6: Press F5 in Windows Explorer to refresh the display.

Q7: I have hidden an object, but still can see the it in Windows Explorer. Why?
A7: If Folder Security Personal is working under Automatic Mode, the hidden objects will be invisible only after the Folder Security Personal Program is closed. If Folder Security Personal is working under Manual Mode, the objects have been protected actually, just press F5 in Windows Explorer to refresh the display.

Q8: Does Folder Security Personal works under DOS mode?
A8: Folder Security Personal works under DOS frame, but doesn't work under TRUE DOS mode.

Q9: If I were to protect files on this drive using your program and then someone steals the drive, would they have access to my protected files if they plugged the drive into a different computer??
A9: Yes, in this case your files will be accessible. To prevent the leaking of sensitive business data in the case of hard disk or computer is stolen, we recommend you to try our encryption software HandyCrypto which uses on-the-fly encryption technology as wel as file hiding technology to keep your files truely safe and secret.

Q10: How does Folder Security Personal protect removable disks?
A10: Folder Security Personal only restricts USE of external drives, such as removable drives, floppy disks, CDROM drives, and etc in the computer on which it has been installed so to prevent malicious people from copying files out of the computer with these devices. Please note FSP doesn't not hide or lock files on removable disks.
